Learn basic principles of making ropes, swings and ladders for outdoor play. The course will consider the health, wellbeing, learning and development opportunities of providing physical play opportunities for children and young people in woodlands.
About the event
We will cover the health and safety considerations for using ropes, cords and other hanging equipment such as hammocks and slack lines and how to balance the risks with the positive benefits and suitable controls when risk assessing.
You will learn appropriate knots and methods for securing woodland swings and ladders and have time to practice your new skills in our beautiful woodland at College Copse.

Please meet by the barn at the end of the lane, the free parking is by the barn- please follow parking directions to ensure access to the barn is not blocked.
What do I need to bring?
- Reading glasses if you use them
- Notebook and pen or pencil
- Comfortable closed toe outdoor sturdy shoes are essential
- Warm layers of clothes suitable for the weather on the day
- Packed lunch, cold drinks and refreshments
- Please do not bring your own tools Adrian will provide all tools needed on the day.
