FREE HISTORY WALK in Chobham
Join the Chobham Commons Preservation Committee on a free guided walk to explore the history and historical sites of the southern part of Chobham Common. Your guide has a wealth of local knowledge to share and you’ll visit a miscellany of locations you might otherwise miss while walking on the common. Sites include the possible site of the Chobham Treacle Mines and a puzzling earthwork.
FIND US: The walk will start on Chobham Common, Chobham, Surrey GU24 8TU. Exact meeting point confirmed on booking. Free parking available.
FREE, but donations to the Chobham Commons Preservation Committee welcome. Suitable for all ages and anyone able to negotiate heathland paths and tackle a reasonably steep descent and ascent. Not suitable for pushchairs or mobility scooters. Well behaved dogs on leads welcome.
Heath Week 2024 with Thames Basin heaths
Between 29th July to Sunday 4th August enjoy a range of free activities across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. Activities include butterfly walks, Wild fire prevention workshops, amphibian and reptile days and much more.
