This year sees the launch of Monday Museum Club.
Join us on Monday 13th February from 10am – 12pm for our brand new Monday Museum Club where we will spend the morning looking at special museum objects from our collection and bringing them to life with crafts and object handling activities. The theme for this week’s club is ‘Super Soil and Seeds’. For this session, be prepared to get a little muddy as we explore how farmers use the soil to grow their crops. Your museum club ticket includes full day entry to the museum so you are free to explore the museum grounds when the session ends. All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult, for the duration of the club activities. Please wrap up warm, with wellies and bring a snack if required. This museum club is best suited for children aged 6-11yrs.
Our famous Activity Thursday returns on Thursdays in School holidays, with February half term being the first one of the year. Whilst exploring the Museum families can take part in an array of activities around the site from making rockets on the Village Green, to playing skittles, squirting water with the home guard and dancing jig dolls at the Romany camp.
A schedule of activities will be available at the Museum entrance on the day of your visit, activities change through the year, so its worth making multiple visits! There is no normally no additional charge to take part in activities as part of Activity Thursday, all of which are setup and run by our volunteers. Sometimes we are joined by external suppliers who charge a small fee to cover the costs of materials.
We are a great day out for families to relax, wander and explore, bring a picnic and relax in our picnic area (under cover) or pick a spot amongst the trees. Our café also serves a wide range of hot and cold food and drink, our famous sausage rolls and of course cakes and sweet treats!
