Moth Trapping event  - Woking

We’re hoping to attract a wide variety of moths to our light traps and you’re invited to the evening session as surveying gets underway. Many moths are as beautiful as butterflies, and many are rarely seen. With the help of two local experts, we’ll be monitoring two light traps setup in the wetlands area at Heather Farm. The traps give us a chance to identify the moths and release them unharmed. Come and learn about a variety of moths and see what’s being lured to the light.

This is an outdoor event and weather dependant. If the weather forecast is unsuitable, we’ll email all attendees to rearrange. We’ll be on site until 11pm, but you are welcome to depart earlier.

On these pages we’re sharing the story of the heathland and bringing you news of ‘Greenspace on your doorstep’, a strategy to create local country walks that help protect heathland wildlife.
