Horsell Night Safari

Join the Thames Basin Heaths wardens for an evening stroll to experience the magic of Heather Farm!
As the noise of a busy day subsides and dusk falls, we can enjoy the last of the evening bird song before heading out on a gentle walk to discover what nocturnal creatures have made Heather Farm their home. With the help of bat detectors we'll be listening out for bats and we hope to hear owl and mammal calls.
During the walk we will investigate the wetland ponds for diving beetles, dragonfly nymphs and amphibians!
Weather permitting, we will have the opportunity to look at moths caught in the moth trap the previous night, before releasing them

On these pages we’re sharing the story of the heathland and bringing you news of ‘Greenspace on your doorstep’, a strategy to create local country walks that help protect heathland wildlife.
