More Info

Junior Rangers is a monthly after-school club, run by Jenny, our Community Wildlife Ranger

It is a great opportunity to learn about and experience nature, wildlife and our environment.

You will make friends and, by working and having fun together, will discover the delights that being outdoors will bring.  Come rain or shine, you will be able to join us in our local woodland and find out more about who and what we share it with.

All you need to bring is enthusiasm and a huge smile!

The club has a fun packed programme of activities which focus on nature, the environment and our community.  Within that they specifically look at 'What's in our Local Nature Reserve?', 'Helping Wildlife' and 'Being Environmentally Friendly'.

The majority of the sessions take place outside in the woodland, primarily in Alexandra Park and Bordon Inclosure, but may occasionally be held in the grounds of The Phoenix Theatre or inside, dependant on light levels and bad weather.

All sessions begin with a nature game, then introduction of the relevant subject, opportunities to chat and share information, a related activity, wind down and reflection.

Each Junior Ranger will receive a membership pack, card and badge, with the opportunities to earn stickers and certificates.

The club can have a maximum of 8 children at a time and is open to all primary school aged children.  It is held on the 3rd Monday of the month, 4pm - 5.30pm.  There is no charge and a free snack is included.

Most of all the club is fabulous, friendly and FUN!
