We offer 6 hours of face to face teaching which can be delivered in groups or as a private, 1-1 session.
The group classes are delivered in 1 day and are bases at the ‘natural baby shower’ store in Bagshot. If you are choosing a private class, then I can adapt the timings and content to suit your individual needs. This can be discussed at booking.
What Does The Antenatal Class Cover?
Session 1 focuses on labour and birth
– The labour journey, including the physiology and the part your hormones play.
– Techniques to help you relax and remain calm.
– Understanding what your choices are if you find you need help with the pain.
– Planning for, and understanding the unexpected, including induction, instrumental deliveries and c-sections.
– Positions that may help you in labour.
– The role of your birth companion.
Session 2 discusses informed choice
– Birth planning.
– Places of birth and what the choices are?
– The ‘over-packed and over-thought’ birth bag.
– The use of positive affirmation.
Session 3 takes a look into the first few weeks after birth
– Feeding, what are your choices and how does it all work?
– The basics such as changing, dressing and washing your baby.
– Your relationship now the two of you have become three.
– Your emotions and physical changes.

Perfect as a stand-alone course or to complement one of the hypnobirthing courses. A class that will empower you and give you evidence-based information to allow you to make the decisions that are right for you.

Face to Face Baby classes
The Blossoming Birth Company Offer Antenatal, Postnatal, baby and toddler classes in Addlestone. All Courses are taught by Julie Watson and follow the Hands-on Babies and the To Baby and Beyond programmes, accredited by the Royal College of Midwives.
These courses will change the way you interact with your baby, for now and always.
They both offer time for you to bond with your baby but will give you totally different experiences. The massage courses will give you a skill to relax and calm your baby, whereas the baby yoga classes offer a fun and lively time which encourages your baby’s coordination and body exploration…why not try both?

Antenatal classes 1 on 1 sessions
If you are looking to reduce your anxiety and fear related to labour and birth then Hypnobirthing is for you. My courses are practical, relaxed and full of information that will ensure you are as prepared as you can be for the greatest day of your life.
Hypnobirthing does not promise you a pain free birth but what it does offer is an opportunity to gain information which will give you control.
My 25 years as a midwife also offers a unique opportunity to mix the wonders of Hypnobirthing with the practical evidence that burying in today’s NHS entails. Courses can be run either in your home or mine at your convenience, it is a 10 hour course and costs £390, which includes an MP3, hypnobirthing book and a wonderful goody bag and access to me via phone or email for the duration of your pregnancy.
