We have just got back from reviewing the runways end activity centre today.
Our 1st impressions were that it was really well kept, a beautiful site and facilities. All of the staff were extremely helpful and kind.
Activities available include
#Archery
#canoeing
#rafting
#shooting
#rockclimbing
#highropes
#caving
and more...
They run
-holidaycamps (£50 per day),
-afterschool clubs.
-They are open for schools/scouts/corporate team building.
Camping and pods are available. pods cost £65 per night and sleep 4 comfortably :)
We were all very impressed with the facilities. our instructor Chris was really friendly and great with the kids. We took part in rockclimbing, archery and caving. The rock climbing was on a 10metre wall, with all the safety precautions you would expect. Archery was indoors in a state if the art facility. and caving was in the customer built caving area. with different routes available :).
I hope we can come back soon and try some of the other activities soon :D
We highly recommend.

We welcome youth and community groups for part-day, full day or for longer residential bookings. A variety of activities are on offer and a specially tailored programme can be created to help your group develop their personal and interpersonal skills, if required
All our instructors are chosen for their ability to inspire and develop young people, but they are also fully qualified and very experienced and meet the required safety standards.
We also have meeting rooms available to groups for weekly block bookings.
Our aim is to provide young people with enjoyable learning opportunities, challenge and adventure, in a safe environment.
We offer a large range of activities including new indoor and outdoor climbing facilities, high ropes, archery, rifle shooting, orienteering, caving, and - with the benefit of being located next to the Basingstoke Canal - watersports such as kayaking and canoeing. We provide all the specialist equipment needed.
All activities offer young people an educational experience and our staff are happy to work with teachers and group leaders to join outdoor learning to the curriculum. Groups are welcome to book a day of activities, or to extend their time here by experiencing an overnight stay as well.
Each activity group to include a group leader
Session 1 – 9:30am – 10:55am
Session 2 – 11:05am – 12:30pm
Session 3 – 1:30pm – 2:55pm
Session 4 – 3:05pm – 4:30pm
Evening sessions are available, usually for Scouting organisations, but please ask if you are interested. This must be arranged at the time of booking to ensure our instructors will be available.
We aim to be as inclusive as possible.
Group leaders - please ensure that your group have the appropriate age related developmental skills and are physically able to undertake the activities you have chosen.
A number of the activities have been specifically adapted to be fully inclusive for a wide range of physical disabilities. Please see the access page for details.
If you have any concerns about physical ability or anyone in your group has any specific requirements then please disclose it on their medical form, prior to the event. Alternatively please contact us in advance for further advice: tel: 01252 344421 or email [email protected]
Ultimately the instructor who is leading the activity, together with the group leader, will make individual assessments about suitability for activities.
The site has a new purpose built indoor facility which can sleep up to 60 people. We also offer camping on one of our 11 campsites which can accommodate up to 200 people.
The centre also provides an excellent conference facility, with large hall space or more intimate meeting rooms available. We can arrange corporate fun days, team building days or provide a higher level of facilitation as required.
Groups can hire the major activities (climbing wall etc) using your own instructors, provided they are suitably qualified, pre-approved and provide their own equipment. Only HCC registered staff may use the Centre's activity equipment (harnesses, rifles, bows etc.)
