The Intech science centre and Planetarium cinema provides a interactive learning experiance for familes, There is an floor of activites for the younger children, and a floor of experiments and aducational activities, as well as the cinema which provides education shows.

 

General Entry tickets allow entry to the hands-on exhibition until the end of normal opening hours. They do not include admission to evening events unless otherwise stated or to the planetarium cinema. Ticket prices for special events are given on the event webpages.

 

All children under 14 years must be supervised by an adult while within the Science Centre.

Private Party Venue Hire

There are five spaces with the Science Centre available for private party venue hire

Winchester Science Centre and Planetarium Cinema offers a truly unique building for private party venue hire.

The main Science Centre can accommodate up to 1,500 people making it ideal for special birthday celebrations, weddings or family events. 

The Planetarium Cinema can accommodate up to 176 people with screenings in "flat format" cinema or 360 degree planetarium cinema format, with a variety of films on offer. This is also a good space for book launches, presentations and other events.

The foyer space, leading to the planetarium cinema, makes an excellent space for drinks and nibbles and can be used as a stand-alone venue hire area, ideal for an early evening event, or linked to the Planetarium Cinema or Science Centre hire. Guests can be met here with a glass of something sparkling...

Other areas available are the Education Resource Centre which is ideal for small private parties or dinners. There is also a private dining area which seats 20 people. Lunches or dinners can be served here and the venue hire space overlooks the South Down's National Park.

If you are looking for at venue hire for wedding reception, a large family celebration or a private lunch or dinner - remember that the Science Centre has free on-site car parking for 180 cars.
