Cycle confidence course for under 18yrs Today I took my 7 and 10yr olds to the @the_summit_swinley trail confidence course. The course is 1.5hours and coaches children on how to navigate bike trails while keeping their balance, and using their bike's brakes correctly. How to turn and go over the jumps and land safely. There are a number of routes down the slopes and by the end of the session, the children had progressed to feel confident completing all the beginner routes. My 7yr old felt confident enough to attempt one of the bike trails immediately after the course which he would not have even considered beforehand. The range of ages attending was between 6yrs-14yrs+ on this session that we attended. Some of the parents of the children attending mentioned they think it would have been even better if the session was split into primary and secondary age courses, which I do agree with. If you bring your child to these courses they will have a great time, increase their bike confidence and get plenty of exercise (and get off the screens). I would recommend packing them water and also a puncture repair kit as these are not supplied. The bonus of these courses is the bike trails all around #swinleyforest mean your child can practice and get even more out of the session. 90 minutes @ £30pp The group sessions are maximum 6 people, so they are a great way to get some all-important coaching, whilst meeting new people with similar interests and goals, at a cheaper price than the tailored 1:1 sessions.
