Your first time on the water ‘having a go’!
A fun and enjoyable practical session, introducing you to Paddle Boarding.

Spend an afternoon with an instructor, taking you through the basics of Paddle boarding!
You will get a certificate if you pass!

Please Note:

  • We’ve added some new features to make your life easier
  • Course runs from 13:30am – 16:30pm
  • “Afters Club”- from 16:30-17:30, no need to rush to get them after the course ends (note the activity finish at 16:30 and children will need time to change 
  • This course is catered for ages 8-14
  • Children must be dropped off and checked-in IN PERSON by an adult.

Bring your lunch, snacks, water, Towel and Wet Shoes, and change of clothes.

The British Canoeing Start Course is catered to young paddlers who are looking to beginning their paddling journey through Paddleboarding. We will be covering personal skills and rescue skills on the water and preparation for a paddle on the land!

Instructor-led Session Rules

All participants must have filled in and submitted a waiver prior to their session.

All participants must be signed in and out of the session by a member of staff.

All participants must wear a correctly fitted buoyancy aid at all times on the water.

All participants must wear suitable clothing for the weather! We will provide wetsuits, but extra layers and warm clothes for the land are equally as important to bring!

 Closed-toe shoes must be worn on all of our activities (land and water). Crocs, flip flops, sandals, sliders and jelly shoes are not suitable for our activities.

 Please bring a packed lunch and snacks, refillable drinks bottle, sunscreen, waterproofs, towels, a change of clothes, and any other weather suitable clothing you may want.

Children between the age of 8-16yrs are allowed as long as they are accompanied by an adult on the water at all times. This can be on the same craft or a separate craft if you have more than one. Maximum of 3 children 8-16 to one guardian over 18.


Children under 8 are exempt from purchasing a separate ticket, they must go on the same craft as a guardian over 18. Maximum of 1 child under 8 to 1 guardian over 18.

Only adults over 18 may make a booking.

Please make sure you buy correct amount of tickets they are per person. This is to control the amount of people on site and in the water at one time. 

Children 8yrs+ are welcome if experienced in open water but must be accompanied in the water by a competent adult/caregiver at all times.

Maximum of 1 children 8-16 to one guardian over 18. No children under 8 years old.

Multi-Activity Day Holiday camps £42

08:30am - 5.30pm during school holidays

If you have a child between the ages of 8 and 14 years old who are looking for a great day out, full of fun and excitement this is the place to be. It is also a great opportunity for them to try a new sport for the first time! Max of 12 children per bubble for social distancing

The sessions are perfect for children to come along and make new friends and enjoy new experiences in a range of activities available here at Horseshoe Lake.

The children will do a range of activities during the day which could include any combination of the following; 

  • Stand Up Paddleboards
  • Katakanus
  • Raft Building
  • Camp fire
  • Sailing Dinghies**
  • Kayaks
  • Canoes**
  • Team games
  • Problem solving

RYA Youth Sailing

A 16-hour long course over 2 days in a small group of up to 6 participants. This is the best way to learn how to sail in a safe and fun environment whilst offering professional instruction.


RYA Level 1 4th& 5th April, 18th&19th April, 30 & 31st may, 1st & 2nd August

RYA Level 2 11th & 12th April, 2nd & 3rd June, 15th August

RYA qualifications are recognised worldwide, with RYA Level2 being the standard for sailors to be able to hire dingy,

The course is a great way to boost child confidence after lockdown, so they re-start schooling with a new qualification under their belt!
