The Heath Week app is a heathland ID guide to help you identify and record what you see. A visit to your local heath could bring sightings of carnivorous plants, super-fast metallic-green beetles with ferocious jaws, nocturnal birds steeped in folklore and butterflies that can disappear right in front of your eyes!
Throughout Heath Week we’ll be showcasing the Thames Basin Heaths on social media and Surrey Wildlife Trust’s website. We’ve got a host of great things to share from virtual tours, crafty ideas for kids and wildlife spotlights. If we can’t meet you on the heaths, we’ll bring the heathlands to your home!

BBC Countryfile will be visiting the Thames Basin Heaths for Heath Week! Why not watch the programme on BBC One, Sunday 2nd August at 7pm.
Between 29th July to Sunday 4th August enjoy a range of free activities across Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. Activities include butterfly walks, Wild fire prevention workshops, amphibian and reptile days and much more.
