Trailblazers cycle club is an adventure in the forest.  The children head off with their rucksack on their back and follow cycle paths, mud tracks and forest trails.

The instructor starts off by making sure everyone is safe.  He goes over the bike safety and checks their helmets.  They are given instruction on how their particular bike works and spend a short while on the specially designed bike training ground so they can familiarise themselves with their bike. Which also gives the instructor an idea of any strengths and weaknesses of the riders.

The children are advised on how to safely jump over obstacles such as tree roots and other things they may come across, and if a child wishes to practise or try something new, they are given the opportunity to do so with a little support and encouragement.

The instructor is very approachable and happy to advise the children if they are struggling with any aspect of the ride such as hill confidence, gear changing or using the breaks correctly.  He is extremely patient with those who may be new to forest cycling and gives gentle encouragement to help build their confidence.

People passing by hear the squeals and giggling of the children as they whizz past.

In the age of technology and tablets, this club is literally a breath of fresh air.  It targets the exact children that might normally be glued to the screen, and lets them get their heart racing in the real world.
