April 13th & 14th : Working with Wood

The museum will be taken over by The Rustics, the Rural Life Centre’s very own volunteers, to show off their timber handling skills using their vintage tractors.  They will be running the stationary engines and demonstrating how to make useable timber from newly felled trees using the Lucas Mill.  The milled wood from last year has been used in new building projects on the site including a newly constructed shelter for the museum’s steam roller.
